The mission of NAGS is to provide leadership in advancing the education and research of geosynthetics, in strong cooperation with IGS, via the following ways:

  • Organization of and participation in technical conferences, seminars and workshops.
  • Development and dissemination of tools for geosynthetics education.
  • Recognition of technical contributions and innovations regarding geosynthetics.
  • Stimulation of geosynthetics research and their applications through the NAGS Awards of Excellence Program.

NAGS/ECTC Rolled Erosion Control Material Installation Demonstration
On June 2, 2008 NAGS and the Erosion Control Technology Council (ECTC) facilitated a demonstration of the installation of temporary rolled erosion control materials at the Annual Highway Superintendents School sponsored by the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York.
